Anti-Static & Conductive

ESD Foam (Anti-Static & Conductive)

Electrostatic discharge destroys electronics without leaving visible damage. ESD-safe foam packaging - both pink static-dissipative and black conductive grades - prevents charge buildup and controlled-path discharge from reaching sensitive components.

Grades Pink PE & Black Conductive
Standard ANSI/ESD S20.20
Applications PCBs, Avionics, Medical
Pink Anti-Static PE
Static-dissipative - surface resistivity 10^9–10^11 Ξ© - prevents charge buildup
Black Conductive Foam
Conductive - surface resistivity 10^3–10^5 Ξ© - provides controlled charge path to ground
Base Foam Type
Pink: PE base. Black: Carbon-loaded PE base.
Cut Quality
CNC cut to same tolerances as standard PE - Β±1/16" on pockets
ESD Classification
Meets ANSI/ESD S20.20 and JEDEC requirements for ESD-sensitive device handling
Moisture
Closed-cell - moisture resistant, suitable for storage and transit environments
Multi-Layer Compatibility
Can be combined with standard PE or EVA in multi-layer assemblies
Shelf Life
Anti-static properties are permanent - not surface-treated, will not wear off
Density Firmness Best For
Pink 1.7 lb/ftΒ³ Medium General ESD-sensitive electronics, PCB packaging
Pink 2.2 lb/ftΒ³ Firm Heavier electronics, tight retention pockets
Black Conductive Firm Highly sensitive components, direct component contact

How APG Works With ESD Foam (Anti-Static & Conductive)

Pink PE is used for general ESD protection where static dissipation is the goal. Black conductive foam is specified when the component is so sensitive that even dissipative materials are insufficient - the conductive foam provides a direct controlled path to ground. We stock both grades and can combine them in multi-layer assemblies.
